In its last experience sharing at QIBA, the New Bridge Associates unfolded that, in performance management, the “staff” factors account only for 25%, while it is actually “organisational factors” that really determine performance competence of an organisation. In particular, “motives” or “willingness” takes merely a 6%---unfortunately, however, most of us have been investing nearly 100% of our energy and time in changing this almost negligible percentage while neglecting those determinant levers.

But, we all agree that it is people that make an organisation different.

Among “people” factors, middle managers are the critical pivot of actually implementing organisational strategies. Loss of middle managers is often a big pain for many organisations. The challenge is: how to effectively manage, and more importantly, help middle manager achieve both their own goal and the organisational goals?

Ms. Stella Wang, a Senior Partner of The New Bridge Associates Ltd, and former General Manager of Bureau Veritas Qingdao as well TUV Rheinland Qingdao, will share with us expertise that has been proved by both time and practice. Also, she will tell us that the mind-set of LEAN is not only for manufacturing managers – after all, the ultimate goal of LEAN is to improve the organisation as a whole.

在上一次的经验分享中,德普瑞致联合事务所向我们展示了这样一个事实:在绩效管理中,“员工”的因素只有25%,而真正对绩效表现起到决定性作用的是组织,或者说是一个组织的环境因素,特别要指出的是,所谓员工的“主观能动性”仅仅占据了6%的比例。然而,在实际的管理实践中,我们几乎把100%的精力都投放到了改变这一微小的比例上,而恰恰忽略了那些起到决定性作用的因素。

当然,我们都一致认为,人才是让一个组织与众不同的关键因素。

在“人”的因素中,中层经理队伍是贯彻执行组织战略决策的决定性因素,中层经理的流失对任何组织都是巨大的损失。问题的关键在于:如何管理并帮助中层经理队伍既实现自己的职业目标也实现组织的战略目标?
